UP legislator theft case solved 5 members of Thak Thak gang held

first_imgNEW DELHI: Delhi Police has arrested five people in two cases including theft case of a UP legislator (BJP) from Hathras, Hari Shankar Manohar, was robbed off his personal belongings and cash near Apollo Hospital’s parking by tricking the driver.Accused persons used to particularly target only those vehicles in which only driver were sitting and there used to be a laptop or luggage bag on the car seat. Accused persons used to follow the target vehicle on motorcycle and TSR. The accused used to spread currency notes on the road and then point-out to the driver towards the currency notes, luring them to pick them up while picking up the money, the other gang members swiftly open the car gate from opposite side and remove the bag kept on the seat and fled away with the booty in a hired auto in which Murugan, one of the accused used to supervise the entire operation. During sustained interrogation, accused persons disclosed that they are native of Trichy, Tamil Nadu and work for Murugan and Govindan. Both Murugan and Govindan, allure young alcohol addicted and unemployed youths and bring them to Delhi for stealing bags from vehicles with different modus operandi. In another incident in Pul Prahladpur, two men have been arrested who used to puncture cars and beak window panes with the help of stones. “Thereafter, accused persons used to punctured the target car to distract the driver and point-out to the driver about the puncture. Once the driver comes out of the car, accused persons swiftly pull out the bag from the car,” said Chinmoy Biswal, DCP South East.last_img
