Since 2015, the Croatian Association of Congress Tourism Professionals (HUPKT) has been implementing its own certification program called CCMEPCertified Croatian Meetings and Events Professional). Already two generations of professionals have successfully completed the program and so far 58 participants have received the certificate. The third certification cycle starts in December 2017; the first round will be held on December 5 and 6, and the second at the end of January 2018.The certificate is valid for five years, after which recertification is carried out on the basis of collected educational points, by participating in educational events organized by HUPKT. Certification programs for professionals in the convention industry are nothing new. The world’s most famous CMP certificate (Certified Meeting Professional) is very demanding and can bring certain benefits if you are oriented to the international market. CCMEP is the first Croatian certification program. ”The certificate is extremely important for our industry, especially for clients from abroad. It is recognized, accepted and has the support of the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb (Department of Tourism), the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (Sector for Tourism) and the European Federation of Congress Organizers (EFAPCO).
